Seen/Unseen
We give, support, and care—sometimes by choice, sometimes by circumstance. In doing so, we offer parts of ourselves to others, bound by love, duty, or necessity. Care can be nourishing, joyful and tender—but also heavy, exhausting, unpaid, and unacknowledged.
Seen/Unseen looks at the duality between duty and desire, expectation and choice, presence and absence. Drawn by personal and collective experiences—mothering, caregiving, community organizing, gardening amongst others, it explores how care moves through the body: in gestures, stillness, touch, and quiet effort. Sometimes it’s visible. Sometimes it’s only felt. What remains unseen in this labor of love?
